Meet the Team

MD and Customer Solutions Director of Brilliance, Samantha Hillion Burns.

Samantha brings three decades of expertise in customer excellence. With an MBA (cum laude) in Customer Loyalty and a strong foundation in psychology and communications, Samantha’s passion lies in creating solutions that retain customers, build trust, and enhance loyalty. Her extensive experience at Discovery, working closely with CEO Adrian Gore, has shaped her dedication to customer-focused innovation.

Samantha’s commitment to her clients goes beyond delivering results; it’s about making a tangible difference in the way businesses connect with their customers. With Brilliance, she turns challenges into opportunities, ensuring that every customer interaction builds a greater customer asset.

Our amazing software developers keep enhancing and supporting our management tools (web apps) with exceptional attention to detail and robust technologies.

With decades of systems design, coding, testing and continual development of their IT skills, they know their stuff and quietly work behind the scenes.  We honour them as they make our designs come to life and do awesome things for our clients. 

With his Ph.D. in industrial psychology and decades of experience in financial markets, Dr Warren Burns gives a portion of his time to Brilliance as the need arises.  His doctorate in Psychology greatly benefits our work in customer psychology.

Warren is an exceptional out-the-box thinker, with vast knowledge across multiple disciplines. At CEO-advisor level, he provides innovative, deal-making ideas plus risk management advice.

From time to time, certain projects need expertise that we bring in through our international network of experts.  For example:

The Heart behind Brilliance

My mother was stabbed in the skull with a screwdriver.  The burglars didn’t intend to kill her but the rendered her unable to speak. As she was being wheeled into theatre, the neurosurgeon counselled me: “She might not survive, but if she does, she’ll certainly have epilepsy and need assisted living for the rest of her life.”

Prior to the burglary, my mother ran a successful Executive Search and Coaching business.  As a little girl, I would play “executive” in her offices.  She was my business inspiration. But now she lay crushed, broken, and afraid, as was my heart.

Out of pain and loss emerged a powerful gain and victory, both deeply personal and profoundly expressed in Brilliance.  The lessons drawn from this experience have become the foundation of who we are. These principles have been intricately woven into the fabric of our business, guiding us every day:

Miraculously, she survived and over time with much effort, regained most of her speech.  She strongly lives on her own without any epilepsy.
